Water Filtration Systems

Of the available water purification filtration technologies, particle filtration is the least effective, removing only some bacteria and suspended solids.  It is the least likely to have any long lasting health benefits for consumers drinking groundwater sources in Africa.  This is clearly indicated on the comparative chart above.  The limited benefits of particle filtration are well known and we won't be covering this dated technology in any detail on this page.  We will compare and discuss the filtering technologies of UV filtration, Reverse Osmosis and UF Filtration - generally more appropriate for cleansing drinking water contaminated with viruses, bacteria and other pathogens.
